CHAMBERLAIN - Althea A. Ross-Westerman (Wambdi Ska Win), 68, made her journey to the spirit world on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at her home in Chamberlain..

Althea Agnes Ross-Westerman was born January 12, 1949 in Chamberlain to Gilbert White Eagle and Cecelia Ross. She attended school at Immaculate Conception in Stephan and Pierre and High School in Indianapolis, Ind. Althea worked at Capitol Inn in Pierre as a housekeeper. Althea was a loving stay-at-home mother. She was united in marriage to Ben W. Westerman on April 8, 1994.

Althea is survived by her husband, Ben; her children Phillip Hockett, Shaun Ross, Sundee Lee Ross, Tina Chambers, Amber Ross, Dillon Brown, and Michael Brown; a brother Thurlow Ross; and a sister Esther Brown.

Althea was preceded in death by her parents Gilbert White Eagle and Cecelia Ross, a sister Amy Marie Delaney, and a niece Sherenne Day-Ross.

Funeral services were held Feb. 13, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ft. Thompson. Burial was held at at the Lakeview Cemetery at Ft. Thompson. Wake services were held Feb. 11 and 12 at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ft. Thompson.
