Alice Hilda (Garnette) Camargo

LINCOLN - Alice Hilda (Garnette) Camargo, 66, made her journey to the Spirit World on Saturday, May 6, 2017, in Lincoln, Neb.

Alice Hilda Garnette-Camargo was born on August 1, 1950 in Belle Fourche to Charles, Jr. and Eloise (Ruff) Garnette.

Alice is survived by her spouse, Jose Camargo of Lincoln, Neb.; sons, Robert Conroy of Rapid City, Eston Conroy of Alliance, Neb., Valentino Garnette of Gordon, Neb., Travis Garnette and Hijinio Garnette both of Lincoln, Neb.; daughters, Delilah Conroy and LaTanya Conroy both of Alliance, Neb., Charlotte Garnette and Marianna Garnette both of Lincoln, Neb.; sisters, Ramona Ashmore of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jackie Hernandez of Gordon, Neb., Phyllis Little Moon of Wounded Knee and Elvira Mosqueda of Fort Morgan, Colo.; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Jr. and Eloise (Ruff) Garnette; daughter, Michaela Camargo; brothers, Renzol Palmier, Donald Garnette, Marvin Garnette, Harlan Garnette, Francis Garnette, and Carl Garnette; and sisters, Myrnette Janis, Charlotte Conroy, and Arthureen Tamayo.

Two night wake services were held May 11 and 12 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle. Funeral services were held May 13 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall, with Father Rick Abert, S.J. officiating. Traditional Lakota services were held by Wakiyan Sna Mani Sr. and Mr. Jay Garnette. Burial services were held at St. Stephen’s Catholic Cemetery in Kyle.
