Leroy Elmer Ghost Sr.

YANKTON – Leroy Elmer Ghost Sr., 72, made his journey to the Spirit World on Saturday, June 29, 2017 in Yankton.

Leroy Elmer Ghost Sr. was born on August 15, 1944 in Pine Ridge to Curtis Henry Ghost Sr. and Amelia (Lakota) Ghost.

Leroy is survived by his children, Jody Lee Ghost, Verlyn “Shane” Ghost, Alvin Ghost, Leroy Ghost Jr. and Angelita Ghost, all of Pine Ridge, Donovan Good Shield of Wounded Knee and Tuesday Good Shield of Evergreen; brother, Burgess “Jumbo” Ghost of Rapid City; sisters, Gloria (Ghost) Randall of Kyle and Virginia Ghost of Wounded Knee; numerous half brothers and half sisters; and 11 grandchildren.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis H. Ghost Sr. and Amelia (Lakota) Ghost; daughter, Charla Marie Ghost; and grandparents, Frank Ghost and Julie (Jones) Ghost.

A one night wake service started on July 5 at St. Agnes Catholic Church Hall in Manderson. Funeral services were held on July 6 at St. Agnes Catholic Church Hall, with Ms. Judy Miller officiating. Burial service was at the St. Phillip’s Episcopal

Cemetery in Manderson.
