EVERGREEN –– Helen Carol High Hawk-Kills Crow Indian, 70, made her journey to the Spirit World on Sunday, July 27, 2017 in Pine Ridge.

Helen Carol High Hawk-Kills Crow Indian was born on February 21, 1947 in Alliance, Neb. to Aloysius High Hawk-Kills Crow Indian Sr. and Julia (Bird Head) High Hawk-Kills Crow Indian.

Helen is survived by her sons, Charles (Elmarie) Iron Rope, Sr. of Oglala and Rufus (Crystal) High Hawk of Pueblo, Colo.; daughter, Gloria High Hawk of Pittsburgh, Pa.; sisters, Virginia Kills Crow Indian and Rosemary Thunder Hawk, both of Porcupine; niece, Denise Black Feather of Porcupine; son-in-law, Ronald Richards, Sr. of Porcupine; 16 grandchildren, 9 great-granddaughters and 1 great-grandson; and special friend, Howard White Face of Porcupine.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Aloysius High Hawk- Kills Crow Indian, Sr. and Julia (Bird Head) High Hawk-Kills Crow Indian; brothers, Larry, Mitchell, Aloysius, Jr., and Val High Hawk-Kills Crow Indian; daughter, Melody Young Bear-High Hawk; and grandson,

Trinity L. Brave Heart.

A one night wake service started on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the Helen High Hawk-Kills Crow Indian Residence in Evergreen. Funeral services were held on Friday, August 4, 2017 at the Kills Crow Indian Residence in Evergreen. Burial Services were at Native American Church Cemetery, Porcupine.
