Trivean Verdella (Crow) Blacksmith

OGLALA — Trivean Verdella (Crow) Blacksmith, 81, journeyed to the Spirit World on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Trivean Verdella (Crow) Blacksmith was born on January 29, 1936 in Grass Creek to Samuel and Jessie (Scabby Face) Crow.

Trivean is survived by her children, Teresa Blacksmith of Pine Ridge, Cheryle Blacksmith of Oglala, Ronald Blacksmith of Fort Pierre, Linwood Blacksmith of Thornton, Colo., and Corwin Blacksmith of Oglala; special grandsons, Sammy Jo Blacksmith and Quinn Kills Small; hunka daughter, Sunny Rae Ten Fingers of Oglala; 24 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.

Trivean was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Jessie (Scabby Face) Crow; spouse, Aloysius Blacksmith; brother, Dale Crow; sisters, Carleen Crow, Roberta White, and Patricia Cordova; son, Richard Good Weasel; and great grandchildren, Furious Peyton Rylie Blacksmith and Holton Wayne Blacksmith.

A two night wake service started on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Brother Rene Hall in Oglala. Funeral services were held on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Brother Rene Hall, with Fr. Joe Daoust, S.J. and Sister Connie Schmidt officiating. Traditional Lakota services were with Mr. Benedict Good Buffalo. Burial service was at the St. Mark’s Episcopal Cemetery in Rockyford.
