PINE RIDGE — Agnes Rose Little Hawk, 70, made her journey to the Spirit World on Tuesday, October
24, 2017 at the Hospice of the Hills in Rapid City.
Agnes Rose Little Hawk was born on August 22, 1947 in Pine Ridge to Robert Little Hawk and Hazel (Shield) Little Hawk.
Agnes is survived by her son, Edward Shields, Sr. of Pine Ridge; daughter, Christina Little Brave of Pine Ridge; hunka daughter, Michelle Randall of Pine Ridge; sisters, Audrey Shields of Lawrence, Kan. and Edna Janis-Plenty Arrows of Allen; aunt, Joyce Bear Robe of Pine Ridge; uncle, Floyd Hand of Pine Ridge; and grandchildren, Edward Shields, Jr., Samuel Hand, Daniel Hand, Hazel Shields, Marissa Shields, Edwin Steven Shields, Silas Little Brave, and Michael Valandra.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Hazel (Shield) Little Hawk; children, Manly Ray Little Brave and Roberta Little Brave; brothers, Sylvan Little Hawk, Harry Starr, Rudy Understanding Crow, and Wilbur Between Lodges; and sisters, Charlotte Yellow Robe, Eleanor Red Cloud, Christine Little Hawk-Timber, Lillian Little Hawk, and Lillian Sharpfish.
A one night wake service started on Friday, November 3, 2017 at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge. Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge with Pastor William “Bill” Quijas and Apostle Pedro Sharpfish. Traditional Lakota services were held with Mr. Pete Swift Bird & Joe Swift Bird. Burial services were held at the Body of Christ Cemetery in Pine Ridge.
