Albert Lee Sharp Jr. ‘Tatanka ob Mani’



 

 

ALLEN — Albert Lee Sharp, Jr. “Tatanka ob Mani”, 51, made his journey to the Spirit World on May 2, 2016 in Martin.

Albert Lee Sharp, Jr. was born August 1, 1964 to Julia Richards and Albert Sharp, Sr. Albert served on Public Safety from 1988 to 1993 and then on the Empowerment Zone Board from 1999 to 2008. Albert was also the district chairman from 2000 to 2006 and also served as the East Bear Creek Community Chairman from 2008 to 2012. Most recently, Albert was the Service Center Data clerk since 1997, and the most important role of his career was being a School Board Member for American Horse School since 2002, because he cared so much about the students.

Albert is survived by his wife, Lola Wilcox-Sharp of Allen; his two sons, Justin (Cassie) Sharp and Brad “Buzz” Sharp both of Allen; his two apples of his eyes, granddaughter, Laylah “BooBoo” and grandson, Tanner “Gus” Sharp both of Allen; sisters, Carmen (John) Cedar Face of Rapid City and LaVonne McCollam of Allen; brothers, Roger (Karla) Sharp and Jerry (Delinda) Sharp both of Allen, and son and daughter, Guy and Tashina Fransua of Long Valley.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert “Bob” Sharp; sister, Alberta Sharp; and nephew, Sean Cedar Face

A one night wake service was held May 5 at the American Horse School in Allen. Mass of Christian Burial was held May 6 at the American Horse School in Allen with Father Rick Abert, S.J. officiating. Burial services was held at the Sharp Family Cemetery in Allen.
