INTERIOR –– Badlands National Park has been approved to increase its entrance fees. The increase will be phased in over a period of two years. Beginning Jan. 3, 2017, the park entrance fees will be $20/vehicle; $10/motorcycle; and $10/individual. The Badlands Annual Pass will increase from $30 to $40. The next increase will take place Jan. 2, 2019. Park entrance fees will be $25/vehicle; $15/motorcycle; and $12/individual. The Badlands Annual Pass will be $50.
“This modest increase in fees will allow us to continue to protect, preserve, and share the special places here at Badlands with current visitors and future generations and it represents a fair value to park visitors,” said Park Superintendent Mike Pflaum.
By policy, fee revenue must be used for deferred maintenance projects and for programs that have direct benefit for park visitors.
