Deadweird

DEADWOOD – Make plans for the 5th annual Monster Ball on Friday, Oct. 27, with a live band, dancing and prizes; and the annual Costume Contest with more than $8,000 in cash and prizes for the best costumes on Saturday, Oct. 28. Both events are free, so come in costume or just come to watch. Must be 21 to participate.

Yankton’s Harvest Halloween

YANKTON – Have a spooktacular good time along Walnut Street in downtown Yankton at the annual Harvest Halloween. Enjoy fall and Halloween-themed games, activities, vendors, trick-or-treating, an art market, bands, dances and more. The fun starts Friday evening and runs all day on Saturday.

Halloween Night Hike

CUSTER – Participants take a guided one-mile night hike along a path lit only by jack-o-lanterns during this festive educational event. This annual event at Custer State Park is geared to expose families to the interesting and humorous sights, sounds and night life of Custer. Hikes depart from the Peter Norbeck Visitor Center every 15 minutes between 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. (MT) both days. Preregistration is required and state park entrance license is required.

Autumn Festival, An Arts & Crafts Affair

SIOUX FALLS – Hundreds of the nation’s finest artists and crafters display and sell their handcrafted works at the Sioux Falls Convention Center. There is stage entertainment, hourly gift certificate winners, food and drink, family fun and free parking. Hours are 11 a.m.-9 p.m., Friday; 9 a.m.-7 p.m., Saturday; and 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday.

Admission: Adults are $8, seniors are $7, Children under 10 are free.

Terror in the Dark Haunted House

RAPID CITY – It’s the largest haunt ever in Terror in the Dark history, set for 7 p.m. to midnight at the Central States Fair Grounds. All participants must get a band at the new ticket booth.

There are tight and complicated spaces, if you have a handicap , please read safety rules. Rooms have climbing and crawling areas. Fast and easy upon arrival or even better yet, VIP show your online purchase at ticket booth and get your bands. Not for children under the age of 10. We reserve the right to refuse entrance.

All sales final. No refunds or replacement for lost or stolen bands. No credit cards at the gate. Cash only. $10 per person for general admission at the gate $15 per person online!!

Scare in the Square

RAPID CITY – Scare in the Square features an afternoon of family entertainment at Main Street Square on Saturday, October 28, 1-3 p.m. It is held in conjunction with the Rapid City Downtown Association’s Downtown Trickor Treat. Both events are free and participants are urged to wear costumes.

Safe N’ Sweet Trick N’ Treat at Storybook Island

RAPID CITY – A fun and Safe Trick N’ Treat event for all ages from 3:30-8:30pm. We will have bunnys Heroes in the park. Candy booths and so much more!

Lakota Language Weekend

RAPID CITY – Location: Hilton Garden Inn – 815 East Mall Drive

Lakota Language Weekend, taught by Jan Uhllrich, is an intensive Lakota language learning experience designed for beginners, but offering learning strategies for learners at all levels

Veterans Day at Crazy Horse Memorial

CRAZY HORSE – A day for Crazy Horse Memorial to honor our veterans. Veterans receive free admission (a donation of three cans of food is appreciated). There will be a blast on the mountain at 11 a.m. (conditions permitting).

Sioux Falls – This iconic American rock band, along with special guest The Struts, is set to rock the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls on Saturday, November 11, 7:30-11 p.m. $101, $81, and $51 at the KELOLAND Box Office, online through www.Ticketmaster.com, or charge-by-phone.
