To the Editor,
As Attorney General, Marty Jackley often had a weak and delayed response to government scandals, such as waiting until after the 2014 election to file charges in the EB-5 case.
These responses indicated a greater concern with political expedience than seeing justice done. Now that he’s running for governor, he is suddenly showing a new interest in the kind of transparency and ethics legislation that Democrats have been proposing for years.
We Democrats welcome this new interest and hope he can convince his Republican colleagues to join our legislators in the work of making state government more open, transparent, and accountable to the people it serves.
