On October 24, 2017 people lined the streets to welcome home SGT Philip James Iyotte after more than 60 years. When he was just 21 years old, SGT Iyotte was taken prisoner of war in Korea and made his journey to the Spirit World on September 10, 1951. A procession hundreds of cars long escorted SGT Iyotte to his family home where veterans, family, friends and community members gathered to pay their respects to the Lakota warrior in a teepee his family got for him.
