Kansas City suffers first loss of the season

Frustration among a lot of teams this week while an undefeated streak remain into week six of the season. “Commander Timmy, I noticed some injuries on the Main Viewer, who were they?” inquired the Captain. Aye sir, yes key injuries were critical for quite a few teams. Such as the Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley who injured his ankle against the Bucs. In addition, teammate WR Mohmed Sanu left with an injury to his hip. Just when things were going well Bills rookie QB Josh Allen left and did not return with an elbow injury. Vikings CB Mike Hughes suffered an ACL tear and will have an MRI. Raiders QB Derek Carr went down with a left shoulder injury against the Seattle Seahawks. Carr wanted to return but was sidelined. Good timing for Carr’s recovery as the Raiders enter their Bye week. Teammates WR Amari Cooper and Seth Roberts left with concussions. Bengals TE Tyler Kroft suffered a broken bone in his foot while the Chiefs will miss the services of LB Justin Houston and CB Eric Berry as they are listed inactive against the Patriots.

On Thursday Night Football it was the (3-3) Philadelphia Eagles evening their record by defeating the (1-5) New York Giants 34-13. Eagles QB Carson Wentz was in full swing connecting on 278 yards and three scores. It was QB Brock Osweiler to the rescue for the (4-2) Miami Dolphins with an overtime win against the (3-2) Chicago Bears 31-28. Osweiler filling in for the injured QB Ryan Tannehill, completed an incredible 380 yards and three touchdowns. A contest that ended on a 47- yard field goal by Dolphins Kicker Jason Sanders to “seal the deal” for Miami. “Thank you for the injury updates Commander, I will continue, stated the Captain.

In San Francisco the Forty Niners apologized to Colin Kaepernick for editing out his plays when showing the Niners and Packers NFC Championship Game in 2014. Kaepernick was credited by the Niners having his plays reinserted into those highlights. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-3) QB Jamies Winston returned to his starting role completing 395 yards of completions and four touchdowns. However falling short to (2-4) Atlanta Falcons 34-29. Falcons QB Matt Ryan who had a monster day completing 354 yards and three scores. A great game between the (3-2-1) Pittsburgh Steelers who outlasted the (4-2).

Cincinnati Bengals 28- 21. Steelers RB James Conner was the key ingredient rushing for 111 yards and two scores in the win. Quietly flying under the radar are the (4-2) Los Angeles Chargers who soundly defeated the (2-3-1) Cleveland Browns 38-14. Again, it was a back who carried the load as RB Melvin Gordon gashed the Browns defense with 132 yards and three touchdowns. Seatt le Seahawks (3-3) evened their record with a 27-3 victory over the (1-5) Oakland Raiders 27-3. Seahawks QB Russell Wilson completed 233 yards of passing and three scores.

It was a wild overtime finish for the (4-2) Miami Dolphins who overcame the (3-2) Chicago Bears 31- 28. Minnesota Vikings (3-2- 1) have resurged with a resounding win over the (1-5) Arizona Cardinals. It was a combination of RB Latavius Murray who gained 155 yards and a score on the ground while teammate WR Adam Thielen roped in 123 yards and a score to assist in the victory.

In a high scoring affair between the Indianapolis Colts who dropped to the (3-3) New York Jets 34-42. Jets QB Sam Darnold coming of age completing 280 yards of passing and two scores. “Washington is a different team when playing at home,” commented the Captain. Washington’s All-Pro RB Adrian Peterson rushed for 97 yards in the win.

“Keep it on the ground” was theme in week six as the (6-0) Rams remain undefeated beating the (2- 4) Denver Broncos 23-20. Rams RB Todd Gurley was simply unstoppable rumbling for 208 yards and two scores. Dallas Cowboys (3-3) offense came alive quieting critics with a 40-7 victory over the (3-3) Jacksonville Jaguars 40-7. Top ground gainer RB Ezekiel Elliot rumbled for 106 yards and a touchdown.

A much improved Ravens team (4-2) held the (3-3) Tennessee Titans scoreless 21-0. Ravens QB Joe Flacco competed 283 yards and a touchdown in the win. Match-up of the week was between the (5-1) Kansas City Chiefs who fell to the ((4-2) New England Patriots on Sunday Night Football in a high scoring affair 43-40.

Simply too much offense in this game as Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes dialed up 352 yards passing in the loss. On the flip side of the coin QB Tom Brady amassed 340 yards and a score. Patriots RB Sony Michael assisted with 106 yards of rushing with two touchdowns.
