OGLALA –– Karen Inez Between Lodges “Tokeya Aku Win”,

68, made her journey to the Spirit

World on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at her home in Oglala surrounded by her loving family.

Karen Inez Between Lodges was born to on October 18, 1948 to

Walter Between Lodges and Nora

Frogg.

Karen is survived by her children, Charles (Xaviera) Long Soldier e and nedaota Jr. Leilani Long Soldier, both of Oglala, Tahnee (Victor) Between Lodges-Robles of Ogden, Utah, Michael Featherman, Ola Featherman and Precious Featherman, all of Oglala; sisters, Annabelle & Iris Between Lodges, both of Oglala; hunka sisters, Sylvia Tobacco of Calico, Danelle Two Bulls of Red Shirt, and Fern Apple of Manderson; and 21 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Between Lodges and Nora Frogg; children, Cheryl, Brett and Carla Long Soldier, Kenny Wayne Featherman and Julian Stands Sr.; brothers, Mark & Lloyd Little Wolf; and sisters, Delores and Norene Between Lodges.

Two night wake services were held June 28 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala. Funeral services were July 1at the Brother Rene Hall. Traditional Lakota services were with Mr. Ivis Long Visitor. Burial services were at Our Lady of the Sioux Catholic Church Cemetery, Oglala.
