Lawrence Wilbure Larson

WOUNDED KNEE – Lawrence Wilbure Larson, 79, made his journey to the Spirit World on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City.

Lawrence Wilbur Larson was born on February 20, 1941 in Red Wing, Minn. to Walter and Marcella (Leaf) Larson.

After high school, Lawrence joined the United States Army at the age of 17 and served at Fort Belvoir Army Engineering Base near Richmond, Virginia.  He served for a number of years before being honorably discharged.  Lawrence then worked many different jobs, to include in the oil fields of western North Dakota and eastern Montana, and as a well driller in Minnesota and the surrounding area.  Lawrence also loved to mechanic and be outdoors.

Lawrence was married to Beverly (Bear Eagle) Larson and was the father of Larry and Mark Britton (twins), Scott Britton, Brandon Fairbanks, Trevor Fairbanks, and Marcella Larson; and his step children, Brennan Ten Fingers, Lisa Titus, Angel Titus, and Casey Titus.  Lawrence also had numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he loved dearly.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Walter; and his son, Scott.

Honorary pallbearers will be all relatives & friends.

Viewing services were held on Friday, July 24, 2020 at the Sioux Funeral home in Pine Ridge, with Rev. Mark Britton officiating.
