RAPID CITY – Leo Francis Cottier Jr. made his journey to the Spirit World on March 10, 2023 at his home in Rapid City, SD. Leo was born on May 23, 1947 in Pine Ridge, SD to Leo F. Cottier Sr. and Regina (Hernandez) Cottier.
Leo is survived by his wife, Henrietta (Ghost) Cottier of Rapid City, SD; children, Cameron Ghost Sr. of Minneapolis, MN, Gabriel Cottier of St. Cloud, MN, Steven Cottier of Rapid City, SD, Stacie Cottier of Pierre, SD, Sheila Cottier of Sioux Falls, SD and Breanna Cottier of Rapid City, SD; siblings, Irene Cottier, Lonnie Cottier and Lyle Cottier, all of Sharp’s Corner, SD; aunt, Rosetta Baker of Spearfish, SD; grandchildren, Anna Montes, Emilio Montes, Tristen Cottier, Maria Cottier, Julianna Cottier, Penelope Cottier, Uriah Cottier, Ruby Velasquez, and Cameron Ghost Jr.; great grandson, Emilio Montes Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents, Leo F. Cottier Sr. and Regina (Hernandez) Cottier; grandparents, John & Agnes (Janis) Cottier, Daisy Whirlwind Horse-Cross and Valentine Hernandez; siblings, Larry Cottier, Beverly Cottier, and Ann Has No Horse; daughter, Manon Cottier; and uncle, Pedro “Pete” Cottier.
Pallbearers will be Mark Cottier, Parry Traversie, Melvin Shoulders, David Ghost Sr., Nathan Ghost Sr. and Louie Janis.
