PINE RIDGE – Lila Jean (Pretty Boy) Cortier, 87, made her journey to the Spirit World on May 31, 2023 at the Pine Ridge I.H.S. Hospital in Pine Ridge, SD. Lila was born on July 9, 1935 in Porcupine, SD to Levi Pretty Boy and Hazel Pine Bird.
Lila loved to travel, visit with friends and family, and go to the casino, especially to play BINGO. She also enjoyed spending her time doing word books and watching Family Feud, Gunsmoke, Riflemen, and movies. Lila loved the Lord and lived her life according to her beliefs. She enjoyed all her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews and will be deeply missed by all and her children.
Lila is survived by her children, Marie Pretty Boy, Marylin Pretty Boy, Louise Frogg, Harley Cortier, Wayne Cortier, Adrian Cortier, Carl Cortier, Tracy Cortier, and Amber Cortier; siblings, Mario Pretty Boy, Serena Pretty Boy, and Charity Pretty Boy; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lila was preceded in death by father, Levi Pretty Boy; mother, Hazel Pine Bird; spouse, Maynard Cortier; son, Gaylord Frogg; granddaughters, Mariah Marie Cortier, Andrea Cortier, and Kayelyn Cortier; infant son, Gerald Cortier; and grandson, Michael Walking.
Pallbearers will be Stanley Walking, Jr., Samson Walking, Harley Cortier, Jr., Norman Wilson, Jr., Tyger Cortier, Lewis Wilson, Willis Lakota, DJ Cortier, and Jordan Cortier.
Honorary pallbearers will be Marlene Wilson, Harriett White Face, Nellie Lakota, Nellie Bald Eagle, Pansy Weasel Bear, June Two Bulls, Connie, Sandy, Cleo, Marquise, and Marquetta Two Lance, Renee Black Elk, Sylvia Warrior, Julie Warrior, Karen & Corline Weasel Bear, Jessica Two Bulls, Troy Roach Briggs, Penny Giago, Malvina Winters, and All Friends & Relatives.
Wake Services: One night wake service starting at 12:30 PM, Friday, June 9, 2023 at the 7th Day Adventist Church at #4 Community, SD with evening services starting at 7:00 PM.
Funeral Services: 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 10, 2023 at the 7th Day Adventist Church at #4 Community, SD
