Marvin Thomas Bad Wound
Marvin attended elementary school at the Allen Day School then went on to graduate from Holy Rosary Mission in 1977. From 1978-1979, he attended vocation training in auto-mechanics and received a 2 year certificate. From then on, he joined the US Marine Corps from 1980-1984. When he returned in 1985, he was employed at the OST Public Safety as a Tribal Officer until 1986. From 1987-1988 he was employed with the BIA as a Police Officer. He then continued as a BIA Police Officer at the Pima Agency in Sacaton, AZ (1988-1989) and in Rosebud, SD (1989-1991). Marvin then was stationed at the Wind River Agency in Ft. Washaski, WY from 1992-1997. In 1997, he was employed at OST Public Safety as a Tribal Officer, where he later served as the Chief of Police for OST Public Safety from 2001-2003. In the years of 2003-2005, he became a Criminal Investigator for the BIA Billings Area Office in Billings, MT and then from 2005-2015, he became a Criminal Investigator for the Pine Ridge Agency. In his most recent years (2016-Present) he was employed with the OST Ambulance Service as a Transport Driver.
Marvin is survived by his spouse, Linda (Goings) Bad Wound; children, Katheena (Mike Harvey) Bad Wound, Crystal (Garfield Steele) Bad Wound, and Mindi Bad Wound; brother, John Bad Wound, Sr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, James & Agnes (Fire Thunder) Bad Wound; sister, Mary Ann Bad Wound; brother, Jimmy Charles Bad Wound; and great-granddaughter, Jessica Bad Wound.
Pallbearers will be Don Clifford, Jr., Mike Whirlwind Horse, Johnathon Bad Wound, Shawn Imitates Dog, John Bad Wound, Jr., Marty Waters, and Leonard Mills.
Honorary pallbearers will be OST Public Safety Officers, OST Ambulance workers, Legion Post, and All Friends & Relatives.

Viewing Services: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the Sioux Funeral Home in Pine Ridge, SD. There will be a meal served during services.
