Richard Lee Hughes, Jr. was born on May 19, 1971 in Goose Bay Labrador, Canada to Richard Lee Hughes, Sr. and Germaine (Whiteface) Little Bear. Richard, Jr. passed away on July 31, 2022 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Richard is survived by his mother, Germaine Little Bear of Rapid City, SD; father, Richard (Pamela) Lee Hughes, Sr. of Archdale, NC; brother, Randall Hughes, Sr. of Rapid City, SD; sisters, Rochelle (Saul Contreras) Hughes of Conway, SC and Rhonda Hughes of Rapid City, SD, Brandi Moody and Candace Hughes both of Archdale, NC; nieces & nephews, Nathan Contreras, Tamar (Jonathan Martinez) Contreras, Jaelyn, Laniyah, Ezail Contreras, Angela (Brad Soliz) Contreras, Amias and Maliyah Soliz, Alicia (Leandro) Santos, Larayah Contreras, DeMelo Santos, Uriah Contreras, Randall Hughes, Jr., Cherella (Jason, Jr.) Hughes-Drapeaux, Ryan Hughes, Julia Hughes, Hailey Hughes; uncle, Jerry (Tommie) Hughes, and aunts, Charmaine White Face, Elaine (Roger) LeMere, Dalaine (Stephen) Bloom, Norma (Ronald) Kirkman; cousins, Michael Wisecarver, Mara Wisecarver, Marc Wisecarver, Mitchell Wisecarver, Zane Iteska, Sky Andren-White Face, Thomas & Terry Geraldsen, Troy Brave Heart, Maggie Brave Heart, Roger & Elaine LeMere, Dallas DeCory, Sr. & Family, Cody Eagleboy & Family, Amber Eagleboy & Family, Aleah Eagleboy & Family, Arian Eagleboy & Family, Boyd & Jeffrey Hughes, Ronald Kirkman, Jr., Edward & Richard Sheldon, and Janice Ritter.
Richard was preceded in death by his step-father, Benjamin Little Bear; grandparents, Fredrick and Margaret “Pearl” Whiteface, and Esther Hughes; aunts, Lorraine Brave Heart & Judith Sheldon; uncle, Wayne Iteska; cousins, Travis Geraldsen, Elizabeth Brave Heart, & Sean Whiteface.
Pallbearers will be Randall Joseph Hughes, Jr., Ryan Chase Hughes, Paul White Face, Travis Brave Heart, Nathan Contreras, Leandro Santos, Patrick Kalili, Joe Iteska, and Chad White Face.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Brewer Families, Clifford Families, Janis Families, Thunder Hawk Families, St. Isaac Jogues Parishioners, His Poker and BINGO Family, and numerous friends & relatives.
Vigil Services: Visitation services will be from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Sunday, August 7, 2022 at the St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Rapid City, SD with vigil services with Rosary services starting at 7:00 PM.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 AM, Monday, August 8, 2022 at the St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Rapid City, SD

Burial Services: 1:30 PM, Monday, August 8, 2022 at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD
