Rosalyn Mae Eagle Heart-Spotted Eagle ‘Winyan Waste Win’



KYLE – Rosalyn Mae Eagle Heart-Spotted Eagle “Winyan Waste Win”, 78, made her journey to the Spirit World on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Bennett County Hospital in Martin.

Rosalyn Mae Eagle Heart-Spotted Eagle was born on September 2, 1938 in Kyle to Noah and Lema (Bear Tail) Eagle Heart. .

Rosalyn Mae worked as an ambulance driver and bus driver for the Parent/Child Center. Rosalyn Mae was also one of the first artists to work with Lakota Funds. There, she made handmade star quilts, beadwork and also catering. She became nationally recognized for her talent. She continued her work until her passing.

Rosalyn is survived by her daughter, Ramona Spotted Eagle of Rapid City; son, Daniel Spotted Eagle of Kyle; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Florence Mesteth, Delores Little Bull and Delissa No Neck, all of Kyle; and many nieces and nephews.

Rosalyn was preceded in death by her parents, Noah and Lema Eagle Heart; husband, William Spotted Eagle; sons, Noah Spotted Eagle and Bruce Spotted Eagle; sisters, Ramona Eagle Heart, Julie Packed-Two Crow and Diana Packed; brothers, Louie Eagle Heart and Virgil Eagle Heart; and grandparents, Edward Black Bear A.K.A Eagle Heart, Bessie Pretty Woman, William Bear Tail and Ella Stands First.

Two night wake services were held May 18 and 19 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle. Funeral Services were held May 20 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle Deacon Harold Condon officiating. Burial Services were held at Spotted Eagle Family Cemetery in Kyle.
