MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. — Sherilyn Brown Eyes “Olepi Win”, 43, made her journey to the Spirit World Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in Minneapolis, Minn.

Sherilyn Brown Eyes “Olepi Win” was born on June 20, 1974 in Pine Ridge to Erroll “Scotty” Brown Eyes and Genevieve Chase In Sight. Sherilyn made her journey to the Spirit World on January 3, 2018 in Minneapolis, Minn.

Sherilyn is survived by her father, Erroll “Scotty” Brown Eyes; mother, Genevieve Chase In Sight; son, Robert “Tokeya” Negron, Jr., daughters, Chantel Lynn Nestell and Brooklyn Christina Cannon; significant other, Dominic Yellow; sisters, Lena (Will) Peters, Marlene Piper, Belva Thunder Hawk, Priscilla (Rich) Hill, Jennifer (Wes) Cottier, Riva Red Feather, Tesse Chase In Sight, and Natasha Bullantine; brothers, Phillip Piper, Sr., Michael Piper, and Gentry Ribitsch; and grandmother, Sylvia Yellow Thunder.

Sherilyn was preceded in death by her grandparents, Phillip & Lucy Brown Eyes and Gus & Bernice (Sits Poor) Chase In Sight; uncle, Joe Brown Eyes; aunts, Louella Brown Eyes, Shirley Brings, and Jeanette Caldwell; sister, Chamblis He Crow; brothers, Robert Thunder Hawk and Baby Joe Brown Eyes; nieces, Kerry Lynn Peters, Victoria Piper, and Kayla Lou Matthews; and grandson, Quannah William Peters.

A two night wake service started on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the Wakpamni CAP Office in Pine Ridge. Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Wakpamni CAP Office in Pine Ridge, with Pastor Don Belile officiating. Traditional Lakota services were held with Mr. Pete Swift Bird Jr. Burial was at the Brown Eyes Family Cemetery in Slim Buttes.
