WellFully sets groundbreaking for new Adolescent Care facility

RAPID CITY –– WellFully will begin the construction of their new facility with a groundbreaking celebration on August 1st, 2017 at 8am. At the event, several Well- Fully youth alumni will share their messages of success, and there will also be a Lakota blessing by a former WellFully employee.

WellFully is the only residential group care home and residential addiction recovery program for adolescents in Western South Dakota. Thousands of adolescents have had their lives changed for the better by the programs at WellFully, keeping them out of the juvenile justice system, providing them with the opportunity to recover from addiction, and establishing a path to become healthy adults.

With the new center, Well- Fully will double its residential occupancy and triple the number of teens served after school to over 900 kids each year through a unique, teen development program called LAB, short for Life Above and Beyond. The LAB will have classes that are open to all teens in the Rapid City community to provide job skills training allowing adolescents an opportunity to prepare for a successful transition into adulthood.

Construction on the Premier Adolescent Care Center will be complete in the summer of 2018 and teens can sign up for free LAB classes starting next school year. With support from the community in part through the Rapid City Vision Funds, WellFully has raised over 2.5 million dollars. They have received financing to begin construction and will continue their fundraising efforts throughout the year. “We are so thankful to Rapid City for making an investment in our kids’ futures. There are many great ways to support the youth at Well- Fully from volunteering with our teens directly to providing a legacy gift for the new building which will serve thousands of teens in the coming years,” said Jessica Olson, Executive Director. Naming rights with a special message are available for the rooms in the new facility.

The groundbreaking event is open to the public with an RSVP. With contributions by local businesses, there will be free donuts and coffee for attendees. To RSVP for the event, call (605) 718-4870 ext. 215, or email jessica.olson@wellfully.org .
